Track Your Marketing Results
Over the past few weeks I have watched a major success story unravel wit the Tech Spot Store. They have don’t an amazing job of getting customers to their store, but they have also made sure to ask where people found out about the Tech Spot. The reason why this is important is so they can gauge which marketing is working and which marketing strategies are not. If you are not tracking your marketing results you are like a manager not keeping stats on your player at the game. How would you know who to take in and out of the next game. You want your best players to play. This is the same for choosing the right marketing channels.
To track your results you can do a multiple of things, but one great strategy depending on the size of your store is to ask where they found out about you in person. This adds a personal touch and it shows the customer how much you care and can also help you build a connection with them.
Another way to track your results is through a survey. This can get you a mix of results and may cost you some time and money. Most people hate filling out surveys or need an incentive to fill out a survey, so I recommend interviewing people one on one if you have a physical location. If your business is online just have a question center before they checkout. However, this strategy can be considered to be very interruptive.
Just like web-master’s track their hits with analytics, you should be tracking the marketing tactics your using. A manager tracks stats to play the best players and you only want to use the best media channels. Using the best media channels can help you save money and generate more revenue at a lower cost. Do not ever stop tracking your marketing, just because the strategy works one time doesn’t mean it will be effective the next time.
How do you track your marketing tactics? IS there a marketing strategy that has worked better for you? Please share your thoughts and comments.
