Three Rules to Your Sites Hot Spots
As in most Western Civilizations reading is done from left to right and top to bottom. Keeping this in mind where do you think most people look when coming to your site? The top left of course. So, if this is seems to be the obvious answer than why do so many people overlook this concept? This more than likely occurs because the webmaster is looking at sites that spend a lot of money to gain traffic or used for a particular reason. Keying in on hot spots can save you money and time. Lets take a look at three things to look at on your site.
First, place your logo of main message in the top left corner. The hottest spot is in the top left corner and then it fades away to the right and along the left hand side. You want people to know what you are talking about and your brand.
Second, links on your site that are pointed to pages within your site should be clear and placed in a tasteful manner. The navigation on your site is usually along the top or the left hand side. The most important links are closest to the top left corner. Each tab should only have three to five links branching out. This is to make navigation easier on your readers. Simple navigation allows your users to be on the site longer, which can turn into more potential sales.
Third, make sure you have contact points on your site. If you want customers to get in touch with you or buy a product from you they may have questions. If they can’t find your email then they may lose interest in your site through frustration. Generally, a bottom link called “About me” or “Help” can help these users. Also, do not overlook the powers of having a “Q&A” section. This section can help save the user time and you time by reducing the amount of emails going back and forth.
Where is your message or logo on the site? What things do use on your site to optimize your readers questions? Please share your thoughts and comments.
