Make it Easy to Get in Touch on Your Site
Many business owners know what to put their business cards, but overlook how their website acts as a virtual business card for their business. Having a website is half the battle, but if you want people to walk into your store or order from you online shopping cart how do you expect them to contact you without the information on your site? I am currently redesigning the site as many of you know, which you can see in the screen shot. If you look closely I have labeled ways my readers can get in touch with me. With technology advancing faster ever than before you can leave your customers numerous options to get in touch with you. These contact points include: social networks, your micro blogs, your blog comments, email address, video messages, and audio messages.
Contact Points:
Social Networks - Having a place where your customer can add you to their social network allows them to get in touch with you whenever it is most convenient. By doing this you also gain access to their information which can be used to sell more products that meet their needs. It will allow you to perform a better target marketing campaign as the usage for social media increases.
Micro-Blogs - Allowing your customers to follow you will open a door for sales promotions, but you can also track what they maybe saying about your business. This is an opportunity for you respond to customer complaints and compliments.
Blog Comments - Allows you to obtain feedback about a product or service you are offering. You may also receive constructive criticism that can help you enhance your product or service.
Email Contact - If you don’t have this on your site put it on their now! No more needs to be said. Or at least have an application on the site that allows them to write a message directly to you.
Video & Audio Message - This is a new way of leaving comments, but it is expected to start occurring more often. Seeing real testimonials or comments may help you gain more attention on your site. More attention means more time is being spent on your site. Video and audio gives your customer another way of voicing their opinion, so leave giving them another option is always a positive in the customers eyes.
A quick side note, when allowing people to comment on your site don’t be afraid to moderate off the wall comments. You want good and bad comments on the site, but not ridiculous comments. The bad comments show that your real. Make sure you explain why the event happened and what you are doing to rectify the situation. This will help people visualize the value of your customer service.
