How to Work While on the Road
After getting a first hand experience of going to a conference while trying to maintain my business and my blog I noticed a few things to soften the blow. With technology moving at a face pace there are countless tools to help you get things done. My favorite was tethering my phone to my laptop. Today, I would like to cover the benefits of remote PC, bluetooth, and broadband wireless access. These to me are tools I can’t live without.
Just recently I took a train to Chicago thinking I would be able to survive a few hours on the train. This ended up being one of the longest train rides of my life until I remembered I could link my phone because of the bluetooth feature. Because both my laptop and phone use bluetooth I was able to tether the communication without any problems. This allowed me to access numerous tools I was in need of in order to prepare for my trip.
The next feature that has helped me out of a jam on many occasions is remote PC. This tool allows users to access their computer from anywhere at anytime. The program I use is called “Remote PC.” I have been able to print notes from my friends house to my PC and I have also been able to access files I forgot to put on my jump drive. This tool was used during the conference I attended to browse at a few photos I needed to show a friend.
Lastly, bluetooth is a must these days. With the ability of bluetooth I can access the Internet anywhere my phone is, have a handsfree setup, send files from one computer to another, and much more. Business people all over the world would be lost without this handy little tool.
This information is simply for you to think of, especially before you go on at trip away from your business or home. This allows you to stay in touch with your employees or clients from anywhere at anytime. The question is do you know of any gadgets that have helped improve your productivity away from your office or home? If so please leave a comment or email me at the link below.
Please feel free to give suggestions at anytime.
